Beginning of July 2011, Herrenknecht received an order for the construction of a Mixshield with a diameter of 19.25 meters. After full assembly in Schwanau, this will be the largest TBM ever built worldwide.

Warsaw: Major pipe jacking process successfully completed.

The underground connection to the new "Czajka" wastewater treatment plant in Warsaw has been completed successfully and on time. Two Herrenknecht AVND micromachines handled the difficult drives with a total of 5,860 meters with bravura.

WORLD RECORD ALONG THE ENTIRE ROUTE. FOURTH HERRENKNECHT TBM SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETES THE LAST GOTTHARD TUNNEL SECTION.

Following final breakthrough in the western tubes, the two 57-kilometer main tubes of the Gotthard Base Tunnel are now fully driven. On March 23, 2011, miners commenced final excavation of the world's longest railway tunnel with the Herrenknecht TBM "Heidi" (diameter 9.43 m).
