MANAGEMENT BOARD MEMBER WERNER SUHM TO LEAVE HERRENKNECHT AG AT THE END OF 2009.
Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Werner Suhm, member of the Board of Management since 1998, and with the company since 1986, is to resign from his position on the Board of Management of Herrenknecht AG at the end of 2009. To a large degree, Werner Suhm is to thank for the fact that Herrenknecht AG is now the world's leading provider in Utility Tunnelling.
Schwanau, Germany, November 30, 2009. Werner Suhm (49) is to resign his position on the Board of Management of Herrenknecht AG when his contract expires on December 31, 2009. Werner Suhm joined Herrenknecht 23 years ago as a development engineer. He became a member of the Board of Management when Herrenknecht GmbH became a stock corporation (Aktiengesellschaft) in 1998. Under his leadership, the Herrenknecht Business Unit Utility Tunnelling (tunnel boring machines for supply and disposal tunnels with diameters of up to 4.20m, shaft sinking equipment, vertical drilling rigs, pipeline installation technology) grew to become a world's leading supplier in this field. Werner Suhm always actively promoted developments and innovations. In 2008, Herrenknecht achieved sales in this Group Business Unit of 241 million euro - the highest Utility Tunnelling sales figure to date. The Herrenknecht Group's overall sales reached 926 million euro in 2008.
The founder of the company and chairman of the Board of Management, Martin Herrenknecht, regrets Werner Suhm's decision not to remain on the Board of Management of Herrenknecht AG. "With Werner Suhm we are losing an excellent manager with a huge amount of specialist knowledge and outstanding commitment." The Supervisory Board and the Management Board of Herrenknecht AG wish Werner Suhm all the best for the future.
