THE DRIVING FORCE IN DEEP DRILLING.

HERRENKNECHT VERTICAL

THE EXPLORATION OF DEEP UNDERGROUND ENERGY

SOURCES poses an enormous challenge. Deep drilling operations place both team and technology under extreme and permanent pressure. The required timeframes for achieving targets are tight, and the demands for human safety and the stability of the drill hole are very high.

Whether the search for and utilization of new onshore and offshore energy sources is economically reasonable also depends on the efficiency of the drilling technology used. Herrenknecht Vertical supplies high-tech vertical drilling rigs for the exploration of geothermal energy and oil and gas, which are customized to meet the needs of our clients and their projects.

Herrenknecht Vertical has supplied innovative deep drilling rigs for the exploration of deep energy sources since 2005.

PRODUCTS

THE NEWLY DEVELOPED TYPE TERRA INVADER DEEP DRILLING RIGS are designed to drill to depths of up to 6,000 meters – both for geothermal energy projects and for oil and gas exploration. Their broad hands-off technologies and a newly developed hydraulic hoist system provide optimum safety. Pipe handling and drilling operations are remotely controlled from the driller‘s cabin – so none of the skilled personnel need to work in danger areas.

SERVICES
GENERAL AND PROJECT PLANNING

Performance parameters and project requirements set by our contractors and rig operators are the determining factors for Herrenknecht Vertical when planning and designing our tailor-made rigs.

The deep drilling rigs are controlled from a high-tech driller‘s cabin.

DESIGN AND EXECUTION

Top quality components and optimum coordination of individual machine parts are what gives our rigs their high degree of drilling reliability.

DELIVERY, ASSEMBLY, START-UP

We deliver the rigs right to the jobsite and supervise their assembly until start-up of the system. When a test phase has been successfully completed, we hand the rigs over to our client or, if required, train the client‘s workforce.

FIELD SERVICE

In order to guarantee maximum machine availability, we deliver spare parts and provide extensive support onsite, if required.

PROJECTS WORLDWIDE

GEOTHERMAL ENERGY PROJECTS located near urban areas pose a different set of challenges for drilling technology than deep wells in remote terrain. Terra Invader rigs are clearly the best choice for both scenarios. They emit considerably less noise while drilling than traditional types of rigs, which means they can be used in urban areas without the need for expensive additional noise protection measures. The drilling rigs can be equipped with an optional slingshot substructure. The advantage is that both the mast and the substructure can be erected hydraulically for oil and gas exploration in areas with difficult accessibility, without the need for additional equipment. There is no need for big cranes which makes it much easier to transfer the rig from one drilling location to another.
