EASY DEVELOPMENT OF SHALLOW GEOTHERMAL RESOURCES.

BOHRTEC VERTICAL

FOR SHALLOW GEOTHERMAL ENERGY to be used efficiently, vertical drills to depths of up to 300 meters must be constructed. The drilling technology employed plays a pivotal role in positioning the geothermal probes at the required depth. Only then can air-conditioning be provided – both for single family houses and large office complexes – in a sustainable, environmentally-friendly and efficient way.
Type VB vertical drilling rigs, developed by Bohrtec Vertical in cooperation with Herrenknecht, carry out vertical drills for shallow geothermal energy projects quickly, safely and efficiently.

VERTICAL DRILLING RIGS

The development of the innovative VB rigs involved making improvements to the machine technology in various areas. Control is fully electro-hydraulic, making the design very straightforward and compact. This makes it possible to carry out projects where normal drilling rigs of the same power class are not able to approach the drilling location due to their large size. Powerful dual-headed rotary drives give the VB rigs sufficient power reserves. Therefore, they can also be used in large-scale projects and at great drilling depths up to 300 meters. Since they have the option of flush drilling or down-the-hole hammer drilling, the VB rigs can operate in any, even very changeable, geological conditions.

PROJECTS WORLDWIDE
GERMANY

QUARTIER UNTERLINDEN, FREIBURG

A total of 108 shallow geothermal energy wells were made for the air-conditioning system of an office complex in the southern German city Freiburg. A mobile vertical drilling rig VB10 made by Bohrtec Vertical was involved in the project. Its reliability was almost 100%, despite very challenging jobsite conditions and at times sub-zero temperatures during drilling.
