Herrenknecht supplies HDD Equipment for Maxi to Mega Rigs with max. tensile strengths of 60 t to 600 t (HK 60, HK 100, HK 150, HK 200, HK 250, HK 400, HK 600). The design of the systems has been adapted to suit an extremely wide variety of operating conditions. So ideal solutions are available for any project. 

Modular-assembly rigs

All over the world, Herrenknecht HDD modular-assembly rigs are a unique and tested product innovation in the field of Horizontal Directional Drilling. The system has been redesigned to allow modular assembly. So Maxi and Mega Rigs are now quickly available for worldwide use. The rigs come in three parts. The maximum weight of the modules is 20t. They are easy to assemble on site and can be braced hydraulically. Each individual module fits into a 20-foot container. So the logistics is a simple matter. Modular assembly benefits on-site installation. Where local conditions make the site inaccessible, as in heavily built-up areas in towns, the systems can be assembled and started up without mobile cranes. An optional, remote-control crawler is available to aid assembly. 

Trailer-based rigs

Herrenknecht constructs trailer-based Maxi and Mega Rigs to customers' requirements. These are specifically geared to fit on the trailers of articulated trucks, so they are suitable for road transportation. 

Crawler-based rigs

 As an alternative, Herrenknecht can supply a rig version with integrated crawler system. Drive and crawler ensure that the whole system is mobile in towns or off the road. 

Frame Rigs

The most cost-effective version of the Herrenknecht HDD rig is the frame rig. A key feature of frame rigs is their very low weight, which means they can be loaded with a standard crane on normal truck trailers.
