Technology with depth.

In the field of geothermal energy, deep drilling rigs have a broader range of tasks to perform than drilling rigs for mineral oil and natural gas. HERRENKNECHT VERTICAL, a member of the Herrenknecht Group, specializes in the construction of deep drilling rigs for geothermal energy and the development of oil and gas deposits, which it designs and manufactures to customers’ specific requirements.

With the Bohrtec Vertical GmbH, Herrenknecht has extended its range by addressing the field of shallow geothermal energy. The product range now includes small drilling rigs for tapping into the earth’s natural heat at depths of up to 250 meters.

An innovative development from Herrenknecht for the sinking of all types of shafts is the VSM (Vertical Shaft Sinking Machine). This enables infrastructure shafts in the 5 to 33 meter diameter range to be sunk mechanically to depths of up to 33 meters.

HERRENKNECHT VERTICAL DEEP DRILLING RIG LEAVES KEHL PORT FOR ITS FIRST JOB IN THE NORTH SEA.

An innovative, powerful and highly automated deep drilling rig from Herrenknecht Vertical GmbH for an offshore operation has been assembled on a cantilever at the Herrenknecht site in the port of Kehl (southern Germany) in the past months.
