Our contracts often provide for a return of tunnelling machines and spare parts to Herrenknecht after the tunnelling project has been successfully concluded. As a result, Herrenknecht AG regularly has used tunnelling machines on offer both in Traffic Tunnelling and Utility Tunnelling. Herrenknecht systematically dismantles these machines, cleans them and prepares them for re-use. If required, the main components are updated.

Strong performance, fast availability.

Tunnelling machines and components which have been completely overhauled by Herrenknecht are in no way inferior to new equipment. If the machine process matches the soil characteristics, the diameter profile is right, a thoroughly overhauled TBM will provide the same precision and performance as a new one. This also goes for accessories such as operating containers, discharge pumps and other equipment.

The great advantage of used TBMs is that they are ready for operation much faster. Herrenknecht has many years of experience and diverse references for the re-use of second-hand TBMs. Herrenknecht has set up its own unit and capacities to prepare used TBMs for operation quickly, professionally and absolutely reliably.
