Schwanau, August 10, 2016. The Economic Affairs Minister of the new state government of Baden-Württemberg, Dr. Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut, stopped off at Herrenknecht AG on her summer tour to innovative technology companies in the state. During her visit she was able to get a personal insight into the company itself as well as highlights from the world of mechanized tunnelling. In talks with representatives from regional politics, business owners and management, subjects such as meeting the demand for skilled workers, optimization of the Rhine Valley alignment as well as inheritance tax and economic policy were discussed.

Special attention was given to the training of young men and women in the industrial sector during a visit to the modern Herrenknecht training workshop. Dr. Hoffmeister-Kraut paid tribute not only to the high quality standards and skills of the trainees, but also to the tunnel boring machine manufacturer as a whole: "An impressive company! Entrepreneurs like Herrenknecht are the backbone of Baden-Württemberg’s prosperity," she summed up her visit.
