Lyon Metro
Lyon was extending its Metro Line B. The extension will guarantee residents in the southwestern part of the town speedy connections to the left bank of the Rhone and the centre of Lyon. 300 meters of the 1,400-meter-long tunnel run under the River Rhone, and end at Oullins Station.
A Mixshield named "Agathe" was used for the 1,400-meter-long tunnel. Agathe commenced work in September 2010, drilling through molasse and granite, as well as sandy and gravelly slurry and acurately mastered the crossing under the river. The Mixshield entered the target shaft on April 30, 2011, a whole month earlier than planned.
